We drove north from Antalya, Turkey into the mountains for about two hours to the ancient ruined city of Sagalassos. Founded by the Hittites before 1200 BC, it survived attacks by Alexander the Great, eventually becoming an independent Roman outpost. We had the place to ourselves.
